Bhuvneshwar Kumar Domestic Career

Bhuvneshwar Kumar started representing the Uttar Pradesh Ranji team in 2007 after making his first-class debut against Bengal at the age of 17. He suddenly came into the limelight for becoming the first bowler to dismiss cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar for a wicket in the 2008–09 Ranji Trophy final and ended the season with 35 wickets.
Playing for Central Zone in the 2012 Duleep Trophy, he scored his maiden first-class century in the second semi-final against North Zone to save his team from certain defeat. Coming in to bat at No. 8 when the team trailed by 232 runs, his ‘Man of the Match’ winning innings included three extraordinary partnerships with Praveen Kumar, Murali Karthik and Rathoraj Singh.

After his impressive performance as an all-rounder in domestic cricket tournaments, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was selected to play in the 1st T20I match against Pakistan on 25 December, 2012 in Bangalore. Shahzad & Umar Akmal but India failed to save the match.
Thanks to his quality pace with the new ball, he earned a place in the playing eleven for the subsequent ODI series, making his ODI debut on 30 December against Pakistan, dismissing Mohammad Hafeez on the first ball. .
On 22 February, on his Test debut in the first match against Australia in the 2013 Border-Gaskar Trophy, he struggled to take wickets on a spin-friendly pitch. However, he showed his mettle as a batsman with a record 9th wicket partnership of 140 runs with MS Dhoni in the first Test and scored 38 runs, the highest debut score at No.10.
In the first innings of the second Test against Australia, he took three crucial wickets of David Warner, Ed Cowen and Shane Watson, but went wicketless in his brief second innings spell. In the next Test, he failed to put the batsmen under pressure in the first innings, but countered with the wickets of Shane Watson, David Warner and Steve Smith in the second innings.
He was then included in the squad for the Champions Trophy tournament held in England and Wales from 6 to 23 June 2013.
He played a tri-series against Sri Lanka and the West Indies in June July 2013, during which he posted career-best figures of 4 for 8 against Sri Lanka on 9 July. The player who took 10 wickets in four matches was awarded the title of ‘Man of the Series’.
He continued to break records as an all-rounder during India’s tour of England in 2014, and despite India’s 1–3 defeat, this time in the Test series, he was again named ‘Man of the Series’. He took his first and second five-wicket hauls in the first two matches of the series and became the first No. 9 Indian batsman to score three half-centuries, two of which came in the first Test.
