Shamail Hussain, the captain of Gwadar Sharks, one of the PJL franchises, claimed that the Pakistan Junior League players have not received any payment from the PCB yet. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved the arrears for the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Junior League (PJL).
This was announced by PCB Management Committee member Shakeel Shaikh in a tweet on his Twitter account.

Earlier, Shamail Hussain, captain of Gwadar Sharks, one of the PJL franchises, claimed that the Pakistan Junior League players have not received any payment from the PCB yet.
In a conversation regarding PJL’s expenses on January 2, the 18-year-old tweeted, “We never got paid.”
Despite the PCB project costing Rs 1 billion, local players received no payments from the cricketing body, of which Rs 440 million was listed as match fees for players and support staff.
Earlier, in a meeting held at the National High Performance Center on Saturday, the PCB management committee agreed to close the league.
The inaugural season of the PJL was held in October last year and was the dream project of former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja.

However, the PCB management committee decided to restore the junior series on a home-and-away basis to ensure that there is an avenue for top-performing youngsters. They also agreed to include under-19 players from PSL franchises in the playing line-up under their emerging category.
