Iftikhar Ahmed (born 3 September 1990) is a 35-year-old Pakistani batting all-rounder who is known as a clean hitter and reliable middle-order batsman. He plays for various teams including Pakistan, Islamabad United, and Fortune Barisal. A right-handed batsman and off-break bowler, he made his international debut in 2015 and has been a key T20I performer.

Ifti Mania Domestic Career
Aspiring to become a cricketer from a young age, the all-rounder was introduced to play for Peshawar in the Faysal Bank T20 Cup and made his debut in Lahore in 2010, however, he was dropped from the squad after mediocre performances in the tournament.
The major setbacks in his early days forced him to improve his batting technique. Then in October 2015, England were touring the UAE and Iftikhar Ahmed was included in the Pakistan ‘A’ squad. He played a brilliant innings of 92 runs against a formidable bowling attack including James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Moeen Ali which caught the eye of the national selectors.
Iftikhar Ahmad ODI Career
He made his ODI debut against England in the second match on 13 November 2015 but once again he failed to make any impression with single-digit scores in both ODIs.
Iftikhar Ahmed made his ODI comeback after 5 years in the second ODI against Zimbabwe on 1 November 2020 and took his first five wickets. His domestic form in recent times has made him a strong contender for the national team selectors and his dream of playing for Pakistan is still a long way off.
Iftikhar Ahmad T20 Career
Initially selected for the 2016 ICC Twenty20 World Cup, the player was dropped due to poor international form. He later made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2016 on 4 March 2016 but failed to seal his place. Ahmed disappointed his fans once again when he was called up to play his first Test match against England in the final match of the series on 11 August 2016. Replacing Mohammad Hafeez who had struggled throughout the series, Iftikhar was dismissed for just 4 runs.
