Babar Azam Debut & International Career
Babar made his ODI debut in May 2015. He was included in the Pakistan ODI squad for the home series against Zimbabwe. On 31 May, in the 3rd ODI of the series, & in the 1st match of his ODI career, he scored a brilliant 50/Fifty, a total of 54 off 60balls. This impressive performance catapulted him into the limelight and earned him selection in both the Test and ODI squads for the away series against Sri Lanka.
In 2015, Babar was included in the national squad for 2 more ODI series, against Zimbabwe in September 2015 &for the home series against England. It was a 4 match series, Pakistan vs England but Babar scored 62 not out with a strikerate of 100. Pakistan won that match with the amazing support of Babar Azam performance. In the next three matches, he scored 4, 22 and 51 runs respectively. He finished the series with 139 runs at an average of 46.33.
The debut year ended and 2016 began when Pakistan toured New Zealand in January. In the first ODI match against New Zealand, luck and hard work favored Babar and he played a brilliant innings of 62 runs off 76 balls. Unfortunately, Pakistan lost this match by 70 runs.
