Head made his ODI debut against Windies in 2016 and has so far scored 1258 runs at an average of 37.0. With Warner and Smith out for a year, Head was included in the Australia A team for the tour of India as an audition for the Test team.

With 206 runs at an average of 51.50, Head emerged as the leading run-scorer and has been included in Australia’s Test squad for the tour of the United Arab Emirates.

Travis Head International Career

He (Travis Head) made his international debut in cricket in the year 2016. Head played his 1st T20I match against India in Adelaide in January, 2016. He scored only 02 runs in the match.

Later, on 13 June, he played his first ODI against Windies but did not impress with the bat. His first half-century came against South Africa which was his ninth match, in which he played a brilliant innings of 51 runs.

On 7 October, 2018, Head made his debut in the longest format against Pakistan. Head got out cheaply in the 1st innings but scored 72 off 175 balls in the second innings which was appreciated by all.

Head is currently a regular member of the Australian Test team and plays in the middle order for the team.

In the 2015 IPL auction, Head was picked by Delhi Capitals for Rs 30 lakh, however, he did not play a match for the team this season.

Later, in the 2016 IPL auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for Rs 50 lakh. He then made his IPL debut on 20 April 2016 against Mumbai Indians.

The following year, in 2017, he played for the same team, RCB and played eight games that season. Head also scored his 1st IPL fifty against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In this match, he played a brilliant innings of 75 runs.
