Ben Duckett International Career
Ben Duckett’s international cricket career started in 2016, but his career took a drastic turn in 2015. In 2015, he was heavily criticized for fitness issues and was also dropped from Northamptonshire’s tour of Barbados. He made a brilliant comeback that season and averaged 130.00 which earned him inclusion in the England squad for the 2016 tour of the subcontinent.
T20I debut
While Duckett tasted international pressure in 2016, his T20I debut came against Pakistan three years later. Duckett made his debut in the only match of the T20 series which was held just before the 2019 World Cup in England. In this match, the left-handed batsman opened the innings and scored 9 runs before Imad Wasim was dismissed.
ODI debut
Duckett has achieved the most in the 50-over format during his short international career. With two half-centuries to his credit, he averages over 40 in ODIs. His first fifty came in his debut match when he announced his arrival with an exciting innings of 60 runs. In the same series, he was also included in the ODI for the last time.
Test Debut
Duckett may have earned a reputation as an established white-ball cricketer but he is equally focused on the longer format and sees it as his biggest goal. On the same tour, he was given the opportunity to open the innings against Bangladesh. However, he continued to struggle against the spinners and was eventually dropped from the team due to consistently poor performances against India on successive tours.
