He made his first class debut for Northern against Sindh in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2019–20 on 11 October 2019. Northerners were batting first. Irshad was out for 5(14) as Northern were all out for 408. Irshad had figures of 1/91 in Sindh’s first innings as Sindh were bowled out for 326 runs. Irshad did not get a chance to bat in the second innings of Northern. The team ended the innings declaring at 262/4. In Sindh’s second innings, Irshad took figures of 1/50 and Sindh were all out for 199 runs short of their target of 345. Northern won this match comfortably by 145 runs.

Salman is the son of Irshad Khan, and lives in a village in Rawalkot Tehsil of Poonch District of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He belongs to Saduzai Pashtun tribe of Sidhan.
Salman Irshad PSL And Other Leagues Performances
Salman was picked up by Lahore Qalandar’s talent hunt program in Azad Kashmir. He became the first player from Kashmir to participate in the PSL tournament. The Kashmiri people got excited after this young talented fast bowler got his first chance to play on a big stage in the Pakistan Super League.
He played his 1st PSL match on 02 March, 2018 for Lahore Qalandars (LQ) against Islamabad United (IU). Lahore bowled first in the game. He bowled his first over in the 08th over of the match. He took the first wicket of his PSL career when the legendary batsman edged out Misbah-ul-Haq, the former captain and current coach of the Pakistan team.
Thus he got his first wicket and that too in PSL by Misbah-ul-Haq. He ended his spell with 1/19 in two overs. Chasing Lahore, Qalandars needed seven runs off 01 balls, he hit a six to level the scores and take his team to the first Super Over in PSL history.
Unfortunately, the Lahore team lost the match in the end but the young player won hearts by hitting sixes at critical times and being a tail-end batsman.
Salman played his second game of the tournament against Peshawar Zalmi and finished with figures of 0/23 from two overs. While his last match of the competition was against Islamabad, he managed a terrible bowling figure of 0/18 in just one over.
Salman was selected as a replacement for injured fast bowler Haris Rauf in the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League. He has appeared in five matches of the competition and has taken a total of seven wickets.
